Bridgetown Bees has arranged to get additional nucs from Foothills Honey Company. All nucs are available on a first come-first served basis.

Queen source:  The Foothills Honey nucs have queens mated in northern Californian, with hive bees raised near Molalla. Queens in these five-frame nucs are either hybrid Italian or hybrid Carniolan. We no longer have a choice. In our experience, both are reliable in our climate.

Price: $180 per Foothills Honey nuc

Down payment: $50 per nuc is required to reserve your nuc. This down payment is NON-REFUNDABLE. Place order through PayPal at the bottom of this section, or email to make other payment arrangements. The remaining balance is due at pick-up.

Pick-up date: May 25, 2019

Number of frames: Five Langstroth (deep) frames of brood, honey and/or pollen (nucs sometimes include a mostly undrawn foundation frame); there is no feeder.

Nuc box:  Bees come in white, waxed corrugated cardboard nuc boxes. There is no deposit required and the boxes do not have to be returned.

Pick-up location:  Cully Farm Store--the new location for Bridgetown Bees (across Alberta Street from U.S. Bank), 4209 NE Alberta St., Portland,

Cancellations/refunds: Cancellations can be made, but no refunds will be available.

UPDATE 4/16/19 We’ve sold out of the last 50 nucs, but I hope to get more queens to build some additional nucs. Please email to add your name to the notification list. Thanks.

UPDATE 4/11/19: New nucs available for May 18, 2019 pickup!

UPDATE 4/01/19: April 6 pickup is on schedule. But (and this is a big but), the April 20 pickup has been postponed until May 11. Yikes! It’s possible the nucs will be ready by May 4. The queens for this round of nucs come from northern California, and the weather has been terrible for the queen producers there. Stay turned for more updates. Please email with any questions.

UPDATE 3/29/19: The last I heard, all pickup dates are on target.
